The Giver

The Giver by Lois Lowry is about a boy named Jonas who lives in community that everyone has a part. The part they play is not their decision but the decision of the government of that society. Jonas, now12 learns the harshness of his assignment and now struggles to gain the wisdom of what does it mean to see beyond.

Wild Card

In today’s society what do we deem successful? Is it the amount of money or materials we accumulate? Or could it be what makes us happy? In my opinion success is what makes us happy. Remember how I mentioned that I was trained as an EMT?  An example of happiness or success, whatever you consider it to be would be my first time saving someone’s life. As time goes on names of patients or people you encounter can become a blur. The memory of what happened stays with you and ultimately makes me happy.
